As you probably know, the Vadalarm Smart family, renewed this spring, has the unique ability to be connected to your home's Wi-Fi and be checked even while you're on holiday. But many people don't know that this is also very important for servicing and troubleshooting. Here's why this feature is useful for you too, with real-life examples.
You could say that the solar panel and the power supply are the overheads of Vadalarm Smart products, the basis of their operation. Because without it, there is nothing. We are often confronted with cases where customers indicate that their products are not charging enough. This is one of the most common sources of problems, which fortunately we can check remotely (provided the device is connected to Wifi).
In such cases, the service naturally begins with our customer service team interviewing the customer about the outsourcing and then our IT team verifying the data submitted by the device. We see nice diagrams like the one in the picture below.

Our first diagram shows an ideally operated Vadalarm Smart Mono. In the upper half of the graph, you can see that the battery is steadily dipping, which our customer charges every 11 days or so. On the lower half of the graph, we can see the variations in temperature between night and day.

The second is a Vadalarm Smart Pro used in a sunny location, which gets about twice as much sunlight as it needs every day, and its battery is constantly charged.

And the third figure shows a graph of a product placed in a sunlight deprived area. In this case you can see that the battery is getting a charge every day, but not nearly enough. In such cases, our customer service clearly recommends relocating the product.
If we had to sum up the main message of the article in one sentence: put it on Wi-Fi (if you can). This will save you a lot of hassle and even unnecessary postage (and the cost of it). And by sending data to our servers 24 hours a day (currently around 100 devices per second), you are helping to make our devices even better in the future. Thank you for this.
